Symbolism of the card
A man in a red cap and cloak stands on the battlements of a castle. In his right hand he holds a small globe, in his left a tall wand; a second wand is fixed to the wall beside him. He looks out over the sea and the land below. On the wall there is an emblem of crossed roses and lilies.
The globe is the world of possibilities he is contemplating — he holds it in his hand, but it is still small and theoretical. The castle is the security he has already built, and the view is everything beyond it. One wand stays fixed: something is already established; the other is in his hand: the next move is his to make. Roses and lilies, as with the Magician, unite desire and pure thought.
Upright meaning
Upright, the Two of Wands asks you to plan. The first success or idea is behind you, and now it is time to decide how to expand: a new market, a move, a bigger goal, a long-term strategy. Look further than usual.
The card also speaks of a choice between staying in the comfortable and known, or going out into the wider world. It encourages you to think boldly but to prepare carefully: research, make a plan, weigh the options.
Reversed meaning
Reversed, the Two of Wands shows hesitation. You may be afraid to leave the familiar, keep postponing a decision, or plan endlessly without acting. It can also point to plans made without enough information.
Ask yourself what exactly you are afraid of. Gather the information you lack and set a date for the decision — standing on the wall forever is also a choice.
Love and relationships

In love the Two of Wands speaks of planning the future together or of deciding what kind of relationship you want. For single people it can mean choosing between options or thinking about moving on to something new. Couples may discuss long-term plans, travel or moving.
Reversed
